You never grew up, or you look as if you didn’t, or maybe you’re just small for your age.  You are often mistaken for a child, and you’ve learned to use this to your advantage.  You also have the mental flexibility granted by a youthful sense of wonder.

You gain the following benefits:

Neoteny:
You have +2 to your Intellect pool.
Little Angel:
Grown-ups don’t regard you as a threat and don’t believe that “such a sweet child” could be up to anything nefarious.  Indeed, they often don’t pay attention to you at all.  You have an asset on any task to appear innocuous or to avoid notice.
Small Target:
You are trained in Speed defense.
Inability:
Because you look like a child people tend to treat you like one; adults don’t take you seriously, and merchants might not sell you certain goods (especially intoxicants and weapons).  Increase the difficulty for social tasks to convince adults that you can handle grown-up privileges or activities – one step for things that would require adult supervision, two steps for things that children wouldn’t be allowed to do at all.

Initial Link to the Starting Adventure: From the following list of options, choose how you became involved in the first adventure.

  1. Choose one of the other PCs to be your “parent.” You go where “mom” or “dad” goes.
  2. You have plans for big adventures, but no one will take you seriously as an adventurer on your own. You have brought the other characters along for “adult supervision,” but they know who’s really in charge.
  3. Choose one of the other PCs. That character thinks you are an actual child and treats you accordingly. You decide whether or not you want to disabuse them of that notion.
  4. The other characters have adopted you as their mascot – having a “cute kid” along helps them in some way. They decide individually whether or not they know you’re not really a child.
