Description

Tiger monkeys are small felinoid primates. They have short, soft yellow-orange striped fur over most of their bodies except for the back of their necks and backs which is a longer, heavier pelt of coarse brown or black fur that serves as natural armor.

Tiger monkeys are arboreal and build nests among the branches of the trees they inhabit. As such, they are adept climbers and natural acrobats. They are quick and extremely agile. They have opposable thumbs on the hands of all four of their limbs to assist in climbing. While small, the tiger monkey has the sharp teeth and vicious claws of a carnivore.

Tiger monkeys are communal and gather in prides. Most prides are not more than a dozen individuals led by an alpha, usually the strongest and smartest of the pride.

Tiger monkeys primary attack is their claws though they also bite. Individually they are not much of a threat, but when an entire pride attacks they can be quite deadly.

Interaction:

Tiger monkeys are fiercely territorial and will attack any creature perceived as a threat that comes into their claimed hunting grounds. While territorial they are also intensely curious and prides will not always attack on sight. If their interest is piqued, they may actually accept an intruder as part of the pride.

Use:

Because of their unpredictable nature tiger monkeys can be a deadly threat or an odd curiosity. A pride may seek out PCs near their territory. Whether they attack or are merely curious is hard to determine until the tiger monkeys are upon them.

Loot:

Most tiger monkeys will have nothing of value, but they are attracted to shiny objects and might rarely have shins, cyphers, oddities, or even an artifact among their nests.
